Wolf Tone Recorders

About

Wolf Tone Recorders is the creative home of Caley Kelly: composer, sound artist, producer, and sonic explorer.

Based in Nova Scotia, Wolf Tone Recorders is a private studio space dedicated to original music, sound art, experimental recording, and independent creative ventures.

Caley hand built the studio from a barn originally constructed in 1946. The space was designed with the idea of the building itself as an electroacoustic instrument: a place where architecture, wiring, acoustics, and sound-making are part of the same creative system.

Wolf Tone Recorders includes substantial audio and signal connectivity throughout the building, along with acoustically treated spaces that range from a controlled, deadened control room to a lively echo chamber. These contrasting environments allow sound to be shaped, captured, transformed, and explored in physical space.

Caley’s work explores sound as texture, atmosphere, emotion, memory, and form. Through composition, recording, and sonic experimentation, Wolf Tone Recorders serves as a space for developing music and sound-based projects across personal, artistic, and commissioned work.

Sound art commissions are welcome. For custom sound pieces, collaborative projects, installation work, or other creative inquiries, please visit the contact page.
